The famous Zoot Suit Riots during WWII, hundreds of Mexicanos were rounded up and accused of starting the riot. The papers were smeared with headlines saying that the Zoot Suit thugs were attacking servicemen and raping women. It was not until years later that the truth came out, but that is another story
